Come over for a midweek dinner, make it a date night or bring a few people and stay for a drink afterwards.
Eat Drink Bhang is about 4.6–5 km from Fitzroy North, so it’s an easy trip when you feel like heading over to Brunswick for dinner.
Depending on where you’re starting from, it’s around 13–14 minutes by car, about 18 minutes by bike, or roughly 34 minutes by public transport. Walking takes closer to an hour.
If you’re driving, the usual routes take you through Nicholson Street, Lygon Street or St Georges Road, depending on traffic.
So it’s close enough for an easy dinner out without feeling like you’re heading right across Melbourne.
You can keep things simple or order across the menu.
Start with Crispy Spinach, Bhang Samosas, Pani Puri, Kerala Fried Chicken, Nepalese Momos or Eggplant Chips.
Then move on to a curry.
There’s Butter Chicken if you already know what you want. If you feel like trying something different, there’s Kori Gassi, a Mangalorean chicken curry with curry leaves, chilli and coconut, along with Rajasthani Goat and Prawn Moilee.
Vegetarian diners have plenty to choose from too, including Bharli Vanghi, Gobi Korma, Butter Paneer Masala and Charred Broccolini.
And if you’d rather not spend ages deciding, the Bhang Thali puts a mix of dishes together on one plate.
The bar has always been part of Eat Drink Bhang.
Ingredients you’ll see in the kitchen also turn up in the drinks, including curry leaf, chilli, mango, coconut, chai and cardamom.
You might start with a Curry Leaf Margarita, Kheera Masala, Karnataka Tiger or Queen of Kerala.
There are also zero-proof cocktails, wine, beer and whisky.
Have a drink while you decide on dinner, keep one going with your meal or stay for another afterwards.
If there are enough people around the table that ordering dish by dish starts becoming a job of its own, the banquet menus make things easier.
Pick your favourites or leave the selection to the team.

Planning a birthday? Our birthday dinner in Brunswick guide covers banquets, cakes, drinks and larger bookings.
Eat Drink Bhang opened in Brunswick in 2017, but Sway’s connection with the area goes back much further.
She has spent more than 30 years in hospitality and is still regularly on the floor, talking to guests and keeping an eye on the room.
When Eat Drink Bhang was created, Sway and Dougal worked on much of the converted warehouse themselves.
That slightly tucked-away, handmade Brunswick feel is still part of the restaurant today.
