There’s usually one person who ends up organising the group dinner.
They find the restaurant, check who’s actually coming and somehow become responsible for making sure there’s something everyone will eat.
If that person is you, Eat Drink Bhang makes things a little easier.
Tucked into a converted warehouse at 1/2A Mitchell Street, just off Sydney Road, Eat Drink Bhang brings together Indian food, cocktails and banquet menus made for getting a few people around the same table.
Come with friends, family, workmates or the group that has been saying “we should catch up” for the last three months
Banquets Make Group Ordering Easier
The bigger the table, the harder it gets to order one dish at a time.
Someone wants curry. Someone wants snacks. Someone else is vegetarian. Then everyone starts passing the menu around again.
The banquet menus take care of most of that.

A Table With a Bit of Everything
One of the good things about a group dinner is that you get to order more than you would on your own.
Start with Pani Puri, Crispy Spinach, Bhang Samosas, Kerala Fried Chicken or Nepalese Momos.
Then move into the curries.
There’s Butter Chicken if the table wants something familiar, along with regional dishes like Kori Gassi, Rajasthani Goat and Prawn Moilee.
Add rice and naan and let everyone work out what they want seconds of.
That’s usually where the arguments stop.
Vegetarian Diners Have Proper Choices Too
Group dinners get easier when nobody feels like the menu was built around everyone else.
Vegetarian options include Bharli Vanghi, Gobi Korma, Butter Paneer Masala and Charred Broccolini, along with vegetarian snacks and the Veg Thali.
So if half the table eats meat and the other half doesn’t, everyone still has something worth ordering.
If anyone has allergies or specific dietary requirements, let the team know so we can help you choose.
Drinks While Everyone Arrives
There’s always someone who gets there early.
There’s also usually someone who is “five minutes away” for about twenty minutes.
That’s where the bar comes in.
Eat Drink Bhang’s cocktail list uses ingredients like curry leaf, chilli, mango, coconut, chai, ginger and cardamom, with drinks including the Curry Leaf Margarita, Kheera Masala, Karnataka Tiger and Queen of Kerala.
There are also zero-proof cocktails, wine, beer and whisky.
Order a drink while the table fills up, find something for dinner or keep the night going afterwards.

A Group Dinner That Doesn’t Feel Too Formal
Eat Drink Bhang sits inside a converted warehouse in Brunswick.
The space is relaxed, colourful and works well for the kind of dinner where people actually want to stay and talk.
Sway has spent more than 30 years in hospitality and is still regularly on the floor, talking to guests and keeping an eye on things.
So while the group might be bigger, the hospitality still feels personal.
